What is your rate?
Chrysaliz Design,LLC  fee structure can be customized to be hourly, flat fee or per square foot determined by the size and scope of the project.  The best plan for you can be determined at the Initial Consult which will allow us to take into account all of your needs.

Chrysaliz Design,LLC offers a free (up to 1/2hr) initial phone consult. You are also welcome to email me regarding our business process before our Initial Consult is scheduled.

How involved in the process will I need to be?
You may be as involved as much or as little as you would like to be. I find that projects have a good balance where you consistently contribute but allow me to act as the professional.  Ultimately the final word is always yours.

Can I purchase on my own?
Absolutely! However if you are making your own purchases, I can provide guidance and advice on sizes, styles, suggested materials, finishes and quality.

What is the difference between an interior decorator and an interior designer?
Interior decorators typically focus on the decorative elements of the home such as furniture, décor, window treatments, bedding etc.  Interior designers have formal advanced training and should have knowledge of architectural principals, drafting skills and general building code requirements.

Why do you ask my budget?
My design choices are based on your budget. I can offer suggestions to maximize the impact but I do not want to create expectations that are not financially feasible.

I don’t want a designer to impose their style on me. What is your style?
I don’t have one style that I use. I enjoy working with all style genres: Mid Century Modern, Country, Traditional, Cottage, Rustic, Contemporary, Minimalism, Industrial, etc.  The key to all good design is to follow the principles of scale, proportion, balance, rhythm, emphasis and harmony.

Several places offer free design services. Why pay a designer?
It is not uncommon for furniture stores or kitchen design stores to offer “free design service” with purchase.  These services are not actually free and the designer’s job is usually (but not always) a sales position.  These fees are hidden in the sale of the furniture or goods and your choices can be limited only to products sold in that store.  As a designer, I prefer to work with you to save money while still providing the best all around choices and will share my discounts where possible with a pre-disclosed purchasing fee.
